Artificial Grass Installation
What to expect when it comes to the artificial grass installation process
The Easigrass artificial grass range is fully porous and UV stabilised and is suitable for placement on soil, tarmac, concrete and decking. The fully porous system is used for most outdoor artificial grass lawn installations on top of a soil sub-base.
All our Easigrass installation teams are certified and highly trained professionals to fit quality garden lawns across South & Southern Africa. Rest assured, this is done with the utmost care for your property, and the minimal amount of fuss, mess, or noise.
Step #1 – Select your Grass Range
A wide range of artificial grass is available specifically for our South African climate. We stock a wide range of artificial grass for all different types of applications. Step #2 – Preparing the Base
We begin the installation process by firstly removing the existing earth, dirt, or sand down to the required depth, clearing out any unwanted plants, rocks and vegetation as we go. We then install brick (interlock) edging around the entire perimeter of the chosen area. This brick will not be visible once the turf has been laid, rather it will act as a firm edge upon which to glue the grass. This will keep your turf securely fastened to the ground. We then water, compact, and level the remaining soil. We do this so that we have a solid, smooth base to work with when adding the additional layers that sit beneath your artificial grass.
Step #3 – Easigrass Weed Barrier
Specially chosen geotextile membrane to prevent the growth of weeds. The Easigrass professional fitters then apply and fit the Easi-Weed barrier on the aggregate base. This specially chosen geotextile membrane sheet is in place to prevent the growth of weeds across the whole base of the artificial lawn.
Step #4 – Easigrass Aggregate
We then introduce a crushed rock aggregate (a mixture of small rocks and stones) to form the new base. This provides added stability and sufficient drainage underneath the artificial grass. The Easigrass installation team builds a crushed rock aggregate base across the whole area where the artificial grass lawn is to be fitted.
Step #5 – Fitting Your Easigrass
The installation team supplies and fits the Easigrass variety you selected. Our professionals apply the same joining methods for domestic gardens as used by our Easigrass sports field specialists. Strong and durable glue used for all the edges: the expertly mixed sports field grade glue is applied to ensure a perfect base placement of the artificial grass.
Step #6 – Applying Silica Sand Infill
To provide exceptional stability and protection of the entire installation, a white silica sand infill is applied with a special blower and then mechanically brushed on the Easigrass lawn. This product is an essential part of the installation process. The silica sand not only maintains the lawn, it also ensures it will remain stabilised and prevents it moving or ripping when exposed to extremely hot weather.
When it comes to laying an artificial lawn, you are assured of highly skilled professional installers and designers with Easigrass.
